A brief inquiry into why I’ve started blogging
In short: this inspired me to start writing
I’ve often been told that I should start writing and I wonder if that’s because I write well or if people would rather have me expend my energy typing out my thoughts instead. Regardless, I am moving to a new city for work and I’ll be alone there. I’m not particularly worried that I’ll feel lonely there. I’ve always liked being at home, close to family and friends but I went abroad for my MSc and it was fun experiencing an entirely different culture. More on that in a future post.
In this case, though, I want to document my life in detail as I traverse uncharted territory, not to combat loneliness but be more aware of what I call ‘home’. Is it a physical space, a set of walls, a state of mind or this keyboard I type on?
It wouldn’t be a brief enquiry if I rambled on right now :)
